Daabon’s third-party certifications also include Fair Trade USA and various global organic and food safety standards. In addition, Daabon has finalized its ROC™ (Regenerative Organic Certified®) certification, which is built on three pillars that focus on regenerating the full farm ecosystem: soil health, animal welfare and social fairness.

Daabon works directly with smallholders to ensure its farms are certified sustainable and organic, which gives these family farmers direct access to an international market with their palm oil crops. In addition, Daabon has several social programs focused on the diversification of family incomes, female empowerment and food security.

Also, Daabon’s palm production process utilizes a closed system to reuse and repurpose waste materials. For example, leftover plant fibers are composted, and effluent from the crude oil extraction mill is captured and turned into energy to fuel the plant.

The company’s palm comes from its farms in Colombia or trusted partners in the region.

Palm requires the use of significantly less land and resources than many other oils. For example, RSPO-certified sustainable palm yields 5 tons per hectare, whereas canola yields 0.7 tons per hectare, sunflower yields 0.6 tons per hectare and soy yields 0.4 tons per hectare. Additionally, there is no disruption of soil to rotate crops since it is a tropical crop that is harvested all year round. The land remains undisturbed for up to 30 years, which is critical to staving off soil depletion and fatigue of the soil.
